INTRODUCTION

The MBA (Banking & Finance) Programme offered by Manipal University has been jointly designed by ICICI Bank and Manipal Education for providing professional education to the probationary officers of ICICI Bank. The Programme has been designed keeping in mind the requirements of ICICI Bank to train their officers to be effective business managers.

The total programme duration is for a period of 30 months (2½ years) with the maximum period for completion being 48 months.

The Programme is divided into two components:

The students are provided with an exit option after successfully completing the campus component (first year of the MBA programme). Such students are allowed to exit the MBA programme with a Post Graduate Diploma in Banking (PGDB). However, those students who have exercised the option to exit but wish to continue with the MBA programme are allowed to rejoin the programme within 6 months of their completion of PGDB from IMA campus. Such students will have to complete the online component of the programme to receive the MBA (Banking & Finance) degree. Any student who has completed successfully all the five semesters in the stipulated time acquiring a minimum CGPA of 5 will be eligible to receive the MBA (Banking & Finance) degree from Manipal University.

The campus component (Semesters I and II) of the programme is designed to provide banking skills to the students to perform effectively in a banking environment and the online component (Semesters III, IV & V) of the programme is designed to provide managerial skills to the students in a banking business environment.
